Terms of service
Last updated: 2026-06-08. Version 0.2 — draft pending legal review before public launch.
1. Agreement
By creating a PoutyQL account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you're using PoutyQL on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it.
2. The service
PoutyQL is an extended-SQL query and reporting layer that compiles your queries to SOQL, anonymous Apex, or a DuckDB extract and runs them against the Salesforce org(s) you connect. Optional features include AI-assisted query generation via Anthropic Claude (running in AWS Bedrock) and exports to CSV, Excel, Jupyter, Google Sheets / Docs / Slides, Microsoft Word / PowerPoint.
3. Your account
- You're responsible for protecting your login credentials and Salesforce OAuth tokens.
- You may not share an account with others, or use the service to operate a competing product.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially breach these Terms.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service to query data you don't have permission to access.
- Attempt to bypass Salesforce's row-level or field-level security.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy the service except where mandatory law allows.
- Run automated load that exceeds the rate limits documented in the in-app dashboard or in your subscription plan.
- Use the service in violation of applicable export controls or sanctions.
5. Your data
Salesforce data you query remains yours. We process it solely to deliver the service. Our handling is described in the Privacy policy.
6. AI-generated queries
"Ask in English" uses a third-party language model (Anthropic Claude via AWS Bedrock) to draft SFQL. The model can produce queries that are wrong, incomplete, or that return more data than you expected. Always review the generated SFQL before running it. You're responsible for the queries you choose to execute and for any actions taken on their results.
7. Early access and billing
PoutyQL is currently in early access and free — there are no charges today. If we introduce paid plans, we'll give advance notice in-app and by email before any charge, and the following will apply: paid plans charge monthly in advance, you can cancel at any time from your settings with cancellation effective at the end of the current billing period, and prepaid amounts for unstarted periods are refundable. Early access may include usage limits and is provided without an uptime commitment.
8. Warranty disclaimer
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, even if we've been advised of the possibility.
10. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time and delete your account from team settings. We may terminate or suspend access for material breach with reasonable notice unless an immediate action is needed to protect the service or other users. Sections that should reasonably survive termination do.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms as the product and the law evolve. We'll post the new version here with a fresh "last updated" date and email active account holders for material changes. Continued use after the change date means you accept the new Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.
